In the spring of 1979 a very
small group of Irish Charlestonians, excited by a wealth of
local genealogical and historical information, yet frustrated
by the fragmentation of personal and cultural information
in the Irish community, decided to take the initiative and
fill a void. The South Carolina Irish Historical Society was
born of need and the response by the Irish Community has demonstrated
that this need is now being fulfilled.

of Irish Dance dedicated to teaching young and old the art
of traditional Irish Dance |

South Carolina Irish Memorial is dedicated to those Irish
past, present, and future, whose contributions have helped
