Desk of the Parade Director
2015 marks the 18th anniversary of the Charleston St. Patricks
Day Parade. With the continued support of the Ancient Order of Hibernians,
the South Carolina Irish Historical Society and the Knights of Columbus,
the parade and associated activities have steadily grown in participation
and attendance. St. Patricks Day is celebrated by people of all
back-grounds and the St. Patricks Day Parade is the most common
celebratory event of the season. Charleston, now recognized as one of
our countrys top travel destinations, is rich in Irish heritage
and will once again fly the Irish flag above City Hall.
To help our community celebrate St. Patricks Day, we are asking
for your support. Enclosed you will find a detailed description enabling
you to advertise in our program, which will be distributed throughout
the low country. Your early commitment and participation in this event
will help promote and sustain Charlestons Irish Heritage.
Your early commitment will be a large assistance in our planning for
another great Parade Day. We would appreciate your ad as soon as possible
but no later than January 18th. This will allow us to publish another
outstanding program book. While we would like your ads as soon as possible,
we will be glad to invoice you the first of February.
The Parade Committee would also like to issue you an invitation to join
us as a participant in the parade or to be one of the large crown watching
the Parade on King Street.
